The week Virid killed, there was a disruption and we were only able to partially fix it. As a result, more disruptions keep slipping through and that’s what causes splintering.
Once you splinter, you begin to lose memories quickly until there’s nothing left of you. You become nothing more but a husk of who you were and there’s no coming back from it. Once it progresses enough, it spreads to others randomly and the process repeats.
There are two ways to fix this and it depends on which case you are.
If you’re the secondary case, you remove the person who infected you first. Once they’re gone, your infection clears up. I can confirm this because it happened to me a few weeks ago and a leader confirmed it to me.
If you’re the primary case, it isn’t that simple because you were infected by… whatever the main source is. When that happens, a leader will notice and send someone to remove you. That’s why Fox told Shima to kill Laine. He didn’t want to but he didn’t have any other choice. Someone told me Virid’s leader also told him to kill.
Usually, if splintering happens, the Realm can resolve the issue on its own but it’s weak right now because something is taking the nova. Most likely, it’s the monster that we’ve heard about. This is the only way we can really put an end to the killings.
Unfortunately, leaders can’t talk about this freely without revealing who is on their teams. I know by now, some of them have been able to get in contact and talk to each other though, including Fox.
[ i appreciate anna for setting these up but rip in your notifs a bit as well. ]
I'm not sure what all everyone knows about the monster Elsa first mentioned those weeks ago, but I spoke to Tiger about it and they told me that while the monster doesn't exist in one particular place, it will eventually become attracted to us due to the amount of nova that we'll collect.
[ she'll sigh and cross her arms. ]
Honestly, I'm not too sure how I feel about this continued "wait and see" game we're being forced to play.
Each leader seems to know more about a different thing. Some of them know more about bringing back the removed, others know more about the monster, and some seem to know more about nova in general.
We can tell our leaders what we learn from others but our leaders can't talk to each other without revealing us. The way around it is if we reveal our teams to each other so our leaders can freely discuss what we brought to them.
Of course, this doesn't mean to reveal your teams freely to everyone because we know what that can do. But it's something to keep in mind and to consider carefully when trying to connect information.
... I'm just going to say it, spoopy. If one of us wasn't responsible for the murders last night, I think it's going to have to be one of us next week, spoopy.
If nothing else, I want to guarantee that our team will be revived, spoopy. And if it comes to that... then I'll speak with Fox about it, spoopy.
Whether you want to believe me or not, it's up to you, but I haven't seriously considered killing anyone since Shima. I've never been big on the idea to begin with, but I'm not thinking about it unless we're given no other choice to.
If we do want to kill outside of the splintering novas, then I agree with bringing it up with Fox first.
Admittedly, I've considered but not seriously. I was always under the impression that Fox was against it.
Now that we know killing actually doesn't generate that much nova either, I don't really see much reason to unless we really want to bring back those who have been removed from our team.
though it looks like two of them have their legs ruined for the rest of the game. haha. and while dorothy looks frustrated, izumo will look contemplative. ]
You think there's a limit of how many we can kill in a night, then?
I'm thinking you receive a gift if you find a way to obtain nova, perhaps from voting correctly, or something else. If you do a kill, the icon will flash, and you receive a memory.
This past Sunday, I didn't receive anything but a photograph. My icon wasn't flashing.
I've been talking to some people and it might be worth sharing considering the topic...
Besides us, one more team is planning their kill for next week. They're deciding on their victim soon. We're on a deadline now, apparently, and next week is our last shot. Our leaders can't protect themselves and whatever happens at this deadline, they'll be counting on us to protect them. The other team is trying to avoid smaller teams... which is mostly just Goat for now. Ideally, they want to target larger teams and the intel points to Tiger and Rabbit probably being the teams that can afford to take a hit right now.
... If you have someone you truly want to protect next week, they've told me I can give them names and they'll do their best to avoid those people.
Lastly, I was asked to speak to Fox and use a hint this week to find out how many people our team started off with. There's a rumor that one team started off with an extra member and that team might put our original number at eight.
But that person... might be special and have something called a "role." What that means exactly, we don't know. But the first step is fact checking this claim. Admittedly, there's a lot of he-said, she-said here so I want to hear your thoughts on this, too. I haven't made any promises to anyone yet.
Alphinaud. [ she answers easily enough because, uh, it is easy. ] That should be an obvious answer for me.
[ as for the rest... boy wouldn't it have been nice if these two were still on speaking terms for most things? sad. but either way— ]
I've discussed the possibility of a mystery person who stands outside of the teams established before with others, but this is a first about hearing how they'd be attached us. [ also this begs the question as to why them??? ] But if there is someone with special abilities that stand apart from what we'd be doing then I'm hoping we find them soon.
[ softly: ]
Hopefully before the end of next week while we can do something about it. If we're going to find them, shouldn't ask the other teams to use a clue to find them? If possible.
[He is just standing with his arms crossed nearby but out of the way.]
We started with eight, yes. I confirmed it with Fox. I thought we may have had a rogue Fox, but was waiting to make sure the numbers on the teams matched the numbers of us alive. And they do.
So four Foxes should be dead. I'm assuming someone just isn't admitting to being a Fox perhaps, for whatever reason.

Week 5, Friday
But Dorothy is also looking incredibly... well, frustrated? For several reasons but-- ]
... I wasn't able to kill anyone. For some reason, I stayed asleep last night.
But since there are four bodies, I think I can hazard a guess as to why.

Does anyone know why our PHS lit up this past Sunday? I thought they were only supposed to do that if someone on our team kills.
